Platform Brochures

Brochures that started with Joe Dehn's original five ideas. There was to be a consistent template, an appropriate cover image, and text that consists entirely of blanks taken verbatim from our platform. TANSTAAFL was also recommended by Dehn for use in tying the brochures to the 2020 national convention theme. An updated TANSTAAFL logo was created that built on the same developments that created the Radical Caucus logo, which was based on the original TANSTAAFL Libertarian Party logo.

Templates

Rough Draft Template

This was the template that Joe Dehn originally used and submitted to the materials team. Brochures with this template saw some limited actual use in California, but it was never meant to be used long term.

Black Template

This is the main template. It is intentionally designed to require more expensive infrastructure to reliably produce than one could do with a typical office printer.

White Template

This template was initially created for brochures specific to the Texas caucus, but is being used to produce brochures that we don't have in a big, large, expensive job. Contrary to the black template it is absolutely meant to be printed on home and office printers and folded by hand.

The Original Five

Taxation and Debt

The original cover image was a stock illustration of someone being literally shaken for money. This was the inspiration for the tax victim image that can be found inside the white template version of this.

Includes planks

While this was developed to be the first one printed, at the last minuet the effort pivoted to Campaigns and Elections for deployment at Politicon 2019. It was included in a small batch of the original five for use in California, but did not receive wider distribution until the white template version.

It has yet to receive an official black template printing for wide distribution.

It debuted as a white template brochure at the Alabama, New Hampshire, and New Jersey state conventions in March 2021.

This was the actual first official printing of a black template brochure. It was a batch of only 1000 and was done both as a test case and to have brochures at Politicon 2019.

The Drug War and Victimless "Crime"

Cover image was originally a pile of War on Drugs connected Outreach Buttons -- all destined for the same event as the first batch of flyers. Per a suggestion by Marc Montoni, it was replaced with a picture of a woman eagerly doing a line of cocaine.
